Since moving to Seattle I’ve tried to use the internet more and more for sewing, crafting and cooking inspiration and knowledge. It’s an essential resource – a quick Google and you can find an answer to any question. But sometimes there’s nothing quite like reading a book or a magazine. These are the ones I come back to time and again to check up on skills or a bit of motivation.

I’ll add more as time goes on, so please do stop by for more!

Pop into any good bookshop these days and you’ll find a wide selection of sewing books. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced sewer, you’re sure to find something to tempt you.

I’m much more of a crocheter than a knitter. Once you get the hang of it, it’s quick to work up and can be really satisfying. Crochet is great for gifts and homeware and I pick up these books whenever I need some inspiration.

You can always tell how well-loved a cookery book is by how filthy they are. These are the sauce-spattered books I couldn’t bear to part with when we moved to the States.
